The free day trips from Rio RV Park to Matamoros and Progresso, Mexico are no longer due to the news media's stories. Our guide found another job due to the press on Mexico. I travel in Mexico regularly with no problems, just following same good sense precautions I use in the USA and Canada. The opposition is to great too over come.

Rio RV Park’s web site offers information to help you comfortably and safely enjoy a visit to Mexico. Free-guided day trips via car pool weekly from November through March are yours for shopping and dining. Local Guides offer Day Trips and local tours for shopping, dining, history, and cultural experiences. Motor Coach Tours to Mexico’s interior are available. Shopping includes affordable items like prescription medicine and over the counter medication, dental work, cigarettes, haircuts, and liquor. Information on crossing papers, visas, taxes, and vehicles is found under the FAQ button. We can help with personal and group entry into and out of Mexico.
See "Park Activities" section on "Winter Daily Activity Calendar" for trip schedules. See "FAQ" for specifics on crossing and purchase limitation in Mexico references. Pictures and descriptions of the Day Trips are linked below, "Matamoros Day Trip" and "Progreso Day Trip".
Source information for your personal or group tour is available. A website called “On The Road in Mexico” or a book “Mexican Camping” are great resources for your planning and guide for the trip.
Camping Book with maps, roads, campgrounds, and rv parks in Mexico “Mexico Camping”, Second Edition, is written by Mike & Terri Church. Their personal tours and years of experience Rving Mexico make the book very accurate. My personal travels in Mexico with visits to many of the Gulf of Mexico area confirm their guide’s accuracy. Visit www.rollinghomes.com for more information on “Mexico Camping”.
