Rio RV Park has three road choices leading from US 77/83.
  • Green Route - FM 511 Exit is the best choice, all 55MPH, country driving, two lane & wide shoulders, plus few stop signs and traffic signals. Left or East off US 77/83 for 12.1 miles, past the Port of Brownsville to Junction Tx 4 also called Boca Chica Blvd then left .9 mile.
  • Fuchsia Route - FM 802 Exit is the second best route, mostly 55MPH with some 35 & 45 MPH, divided Blvd with traffic lights to FM 511 (Indiana) then right to Tx 4 (Boca Chica) one mile and park on your left. Some construction is on US 77/83 with Speed Limits of 50MPH.
  • Blue Route - Boca Chica Exit is the most direct route with a left on Boca Chica and then a left into Rio one mile past the FM511 intersection. Some construction is on US 77/83 with Speed Limits of 50MPH.

Construction Comments June 13, 2008

Green Route - FM 511 Exit may still be the best with some construction causing part of it to have the speed limit posted at 45mph. Traffic flow is still pretty good and shortest of all three.
Fuchsia Route - FM 802 Exit is down to two lanes near 77/83 and very congested while the road is being rebuilt. This should not last long. Call the park office for updates.
Blue Route - Boca Chica Exit This may be the best route for now with good wide seven lane road with turns built for trucks and RVs off 77/83. Speed limit of 40mph and higher with ok flow of traffic.
77/83 Construction is completed and Brownsville was noted to have the best road system for getting around town in a hurry for all cities in Texas.
