Progresso is about 45 minutes from the park. Parking is in U.S. with walking two blocks through customs and across the bridge to shopping and dining. On the road to Progresso – see historical sites plus local crops such as Sugar Cane, Onions, Cotton, Grain, and Vegetable depending on the season. Personal expenses are parking, your own food and drinks, plus shopping. Cost of many items can be about 25% of what you would pay back home for curios, blankets, vanilla, etc. Shopping for the kids, grandkids, and friends back home for Christmas or birthdays adds something very special to the gift. from Brownsville offers shopping and dining plus historic buildings, culture,
and heritage of a city going back to the
early 1800s. The market is easy enough to find. It is one mile from the
International Bridge. The Juarez Market is like an old time Mexican Market
where prices
are not marked and you bargain. Shopping at another store like Garcia's
where prices are marked will help you bargain for a price betting the shops
and

The Progreso has only one main street as you can see on the photo to the right. This street is lined with from curio shops to numerous Drug Stores to Dentists offices. Many vendors display their goods in Progreso on the sidewalk. These sidewalk vendors will sometimes deal while the stores are very had to get a discount from.
Jewelry of both gold and silver are very reasonably priced. You will want to check out any vendor on precious metals just like back in the states. Many of the vendors do live in Texas.
