Nature Testimonials
Lee has taken a number of people birding and interacted with them in different ways. His part might vary from planner, to coordinator, to birding guide, to driver, and other activities. Some have made comments about the results of Lee's actions. His most known Birder, President Jimmy Carter and wife Rosalyn, comments come first. Following are numerous comments from Deep South Texas field trips and from Mexico Birding Trips.

President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn April 2004

Lee had a lifetime experience. It was the good fortune to prepare the first birding vacation for former President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn. It took five months to develop. He planned all the birding, guiding, lodging, food, transportation, and security were all issues. A Rio Grande Delta Audubon newsletter below gives all the details and results.

Brownsville Herald News Article - "It is superb," Carter said noting. "Icould have gone anywhere in the world to watch birds." "I wouldn't have been here except for Lee," Carter said.

Carter hand written Thank You Note - "It was a great visit! Thank you so much. The birding was great, the accommodations beautiful & comfortable. You did a great job with all the arrangements."

Mexico - El Cielo

Dear Lee,
Re:   Mexico, El Cielo Biosphere Reserve.

Nancy and Ted Sears

Ted and I would like to thank you for one of the most enjoyable birding trips we have ever taken.   We have birded in South America, Africa, the Caribbean and Europe.   As you know I lead tours to Costa Rica.  We consider El Cielo as productive as any of these locations.  175 species in only 4 full birding days.  Remarkable.   Once more the scenery is stunning, food excellent, accommodation charming.  And its all only a short drive from Brownsville.

See details on list for one day trip etc for these two e-mails.
Hi Lee,
I put my list into ebird and as best as I can tell, the total comes to 69 species (18 lifers for me.)
I would like to purchase a print of the Spoonbill photo we talked about as a gift for my parents
Cliff and any others interested:

I just returned from a one-day birding visit to Lower RGV - Brownsville area and if you or anyone else is interested, I can recommend a local guide who guides for birds and/or butterflies in RGV and Mexico. He was a terrific guide, a lot of fun to spend time with... plus I picked up an overwhelming 18 lifebirds in one day.

Best regards, Peter

Hi again Lee,

I just wanted to thank you so very much for your generous hospitality and time you spent with Sue Ann and I in wonderful conversation and sharing your passion of photography with us. Thanks also for sharing your insight into the excellent places to go to for photographing the local wildlife. We would have loved to have gone on a photoshoot with you.

I am sending along a sample of some of the photos we were able to capture while in your area. We have been in the Mission area since leaving your place and enjoying the many butterfly parks here.

Until next time....Paul & Sue Ann Roberts

I would first like to extend my appreciation to Lee Zieger and associates for a great time at RIO R V PARK, 8801 Boca Chica Blvd., Brownsville, TX.
I chose to stay at the Rio RV Park for my first Birding trip for several reasons. It is centrally located to the many Birding reserves and viewing sites in Brownsville’s surrounding area, moderate pricing and a very informative Web page on the Internet for RIORVPARK.aol.com.
The Web page informed me that the owner and operator of the park was a birder and most importantly to me, a Professional Photographer. As a beginning photographer I needed to “rub shoulders” with someone that knew what was happening in the field of bird photography.
I was surprised to have a very busy Lee Zieger take interest in my quest. Lee most graciously gave of his time, knowledge and personal attention to help me become a better photographer.
For those of you that do not know, Lee is a life long resident of this area, a leader in community affairs, and the host of frequent guided birding trips into Mexico. His personal knowledge of the area will make anyone’s vacation or winter stay to the Brownsville, TX area comfortable.

Hi Lee,

I just had a chance to look at the Web Page for Mexico and thought that you did a great job. I forwarded it to Vern and some of my friends who have been inquiring about our trip.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with you and wish you great success with your new business venture

Best to you

Lee,

Thanks for the info. Last night (Friday) we saw at least five pairs of Red-crowned Parrots along with many Green Parakeets. There is also a smaller roost of Green Parakeets at the church on 8th and Elizabeth.

We had no luck with the Tamps Crow in three attempts earlier in the week.

Cheers,
